One of the biggest complaints we’ve heard on the cowboy action shooting scene is a lack of quality gun holster rigs for women in the sport. We wanted to create a rig that keeps women’s comfort in mind but also has the competitive gun belt qualities that Kirkpatrick Leather is known for.
Once again, we called on Five-Time Modern World Champion Tequila to lend a hand. It seems that Tequila knows everyone, so we asked him to get some ideas from women shooters for a more comfortable belt. Each of the ladies came back with a request for a curved leather belt with tapered ends and the buckle in the back. Also mentioned was a design with sewn shot shell loops on the pistol belt, eliminating the need for a separate shotshell belt.
Enter the “Tequila Ladies rig”, designed to meet the specific needs of women shooters. This gun belt is curved on the ends to sit flat on the hips, ensuring comfort during extended use whether that be as an everyday carry belt or in competitive scenarios.
Using the information gathered by Tequila, Mike went to work on designing the newest addition to the Kirkpatrick line. The final product is what you see here. A rig designed with the help of female cowboy action shooters to add comfort and adjust ability without sacrificing function.
The TQL features a belt buckle that clasps in the back, smaller waistband holsters than the original Tequila rig but still featuring excellent stiffness for easy firearm drawing, and sewn shot shell belt loops on the pistol belt itself.
We’re obviously biased, but we believe this is the best gun belt for women on the market. We guarantee no other women’s leather gun belt has had more thought put into the design!

How our holsters are built
We start by cutting from the best part of the hide. We then hand dye the holster to ensure a rich deep color that will accent your firearm. All our holsters are sewn using seven cord bonded nylon thread and double stitched in all critical areas.
The heavy weight construction also makes sure the holsters stay open when re-holstering. Each holster is then hand molded for a perfect fit. The edges are then sanded and hand burnished to a smooth glossy finish. This helps prevent moisture from entering the edges of the leather. They are then polished and finished with a clear coating to protect the finish. The belts are made using heavy 9 oz. saddle leather and are fully leather lined.
