The “Big Jake” is a fan favorite and a replica John Wayne holster that he used in many of his films. Like all of our holsters, this gun belt is crafted by hand from start to finish using only the highest quality materials available.
Made of premium Herman Oak Leather, this revolver holster is fully lined and molded for a smooth draw and easy re-holstering. The leather, sourced directly from the United States, is hand-dyed and all edges are burnished before being painted for a long-lasting finish. The double-ply suede gun belt is constructed of 9 oz. leather, providing durability and strength.
The “Big Jake” is equipped with twenty-four bullet loops, a solid square buckle, and a latigo hammer tie-down. It is designed not only for Ruger Vaquero, but also any other revolver with a similar frame.
Since 1950, we’ve been proudly making our custom holsters in the great state of Texas. All of our old west style holsters are handmade with high quality United States leather.
Our meticulous process starts with selecting the best part of the hide, followed by hand-dyeing the holster to ensure a rich, deep color that complements your firearm. The holsters are sewn using seven cord bonded nylon thread and double-stitched in all critical areas. The heavy weight construction ensures the holsters remain open when re-holstering. Each holster is hand-molded for a perfect fit, and the edges are sanded and burnished to a smooth, glossy finish to prevent moisture from entering the leather. Finally, the holsters are polished and finished with a clear coating to protect the finish.
Our custom gun belts are built using heavy 9 oz. saddle leather and are fully leather-lined. They feature 24 hand-molded bullet loops and come equipped with high-quality solid steel and brass hardware. Our custom gun belts are built to last a lifetime.
Whether you’re a John Wayne fan or you have one in your life, the “Big Jake” Duke rig and gun belt is the perfect addition to your collection. We have many other great Hollywood western rigs as well, and remember when you from Kirkpatrick Leather Company, you are supporting American jobs and manufacturing.
